A Word From Our President
Never in a million years did I think I would be in the position I am currently in, reaping the gratifying rewards of helping people. As a pianist of 28 years with a Masters Degree in music and a marketing entrepreneur, I have had the privilege of meeting and working with people from all walks of life.
I have been rewarded many times in passing along my musical talents, experiences and performances to thousands of people. What had always seemed to be the place for me took a drastic turn after simply meeting a nanny in the park. In time, I learned of her devastation and struggles, just to be like everyone else. Free.
Having always lived the canadian dream, born and raised, to being a successful business woman, a wife and mother of two, I have dedicated my success to "paying it forward". The more I research, the more I began dedicating my life to helping those around me seek a better life or existence within our complicated world.
For some of us born unbeknownst to a life we did not choose, to those of us spoiled by our freedoms and riches, is there not a happy medium? Some of us do not need to search, we are content, able to reach and see everything life offers or presents to us. We can easily choose whether or not to grasp it. Some of us do not have that choice, but have heard of its existence and try desperately to find it. When they do, they find themselves at the mercy of whomever holds this power.
There are certain laws in place that exist in each country to validate who can enter and for what reason. To most foreigners, Canada is considered the pearly gates of heaven. They hear so much about our great country and respect all the governing laws that hold it together. Their expression of Canada when they arrive is as though they had just been confronted by an angel from the heavens above. Something they had never seen before and in real life! I have captured physically and in my mind, the expressions, the glories, the endless tears and running noses, the devastation's and the struggles, the spoiled and highly maintained foreigners of all kinds.
The rewards within the work accomplished are so gratifying, it takes the word “help” to a whole new level. I have had the satisfaction of saving so many lives I have lost count. A large number of Canadians & Immigrants of all races have entrusted their lives with me which holds a huge burden of “can I come through for them?”.
Unfortunately, some lawyers, immigration consultants and agencies have the tendency to hold the monetary power over immigrants.
I hold documentation of foreign workers being charged up to and over $43,000.00 canadian dollars to come to Canada, only to work in a fast food job or as a hotel room attendant. As well, the foreign workers that have passed Canadian requirements for permanent residency, try to apply, only to get gouged in fees over $15,000.00 Canadian dollars, just to do the paperwork seeking residency to a life they have worked so hard for already. Now to have an existing and new “welcome to Canada” loan payment to pay the thousands of dollars charged for their freedom. What a vicious circle.
The TFWA is a non for profit society designed to blanket all immigrants in Canada or wanting to come to Canada to work, study or visit. The foreigner pays a one time fee for a two year membership. In return, the member has the protection, guidance, legal protection, personal issues, all government paperwork completion, monies for food, housing, clothing and insurances, not to mention personal hygiene, professional counseling, long distance cost via fax, fedex and phone, covered and much more.
Aside from being a member of the society, the TFWA picks up the tab for everything listed above to aid and assist. The beauty of this society is putting the stop on all illegal activities. No more gouging the employer to hire a worker as we are free! No more gauging the immigrant to illegally pay the employer back because we are free! Illegal immigrants have no one to talk to from being scared of having no status. They have come to us and we have supported them and sent them home.
I witnessed an immigrant in my office stuck in Canada since 1984. His only reason to remaining in Canada was being terrified of being shackled with handcuffs and not having enough money to pay for his plane ticket home. His employer had allegedly abused him for 2 years before he went into hiding. We see cases like this everyday.
We manage to send home many illegal immigrants that are only here because they did not understand or know better.
Agencies are popping up by the hundreds everyday within Canada and overseas because the illegal money to be made is attractive and addictive. Human exploitation is easily achieved. The money to be made is in the hundreds of thousands. Very attractive to some with the intent to take advantage of the less fortunate. In my humanitarian heart, and the staff that work with me, we all have the compassion and strive towards thrilling and helping immigrants and canadians alike.
TFWA is a one of a kind organization that I take pride in growing with and being a part of.
